“Sometimes I give the impression that I am zoned out, lost in my thoughts, and unaware of my surroundings, when, in fact, I am seeing everything. I narrate life as it happens. I enjoy trying to decipher how to capture the most minuscule events in words. I’m hearing what you’re saying, seeing the way you move, noting your hand gestures, the curl of your lip, and the way you’re standing. I’m recording the dead air between our dialogue and the signs that silence may or may not be comfortable for you. My mouth is quiet while my mind is busy spinning the fabric of our lives into words. I am listening, with my eyes, ears, and heart.”
