If you live under a rock, or don’t stalk me enough on Twitter and Instagram, you have no idea that my women’s empowerment org Moredinary is teaming up with Yetti’s women’s empowerment org, Certified 10 for Think This Way: Developing the Negatives. Our hope is that everyone will leave with a new constructive way of thinking, a cute goody bag, and a new friend or two.
The question I get most often regarding my events and my motivation for Moredinary is why. Why do you do what you do? Why did you start Moredinary? Why are you doing it on this topic? Why are you teaming up with someone like Yetti? (kidding!) Here’s 5 simple reasons why I’m so gung-ho on Think This Way.
- Because I struggle with my thought life every day. Like every, single, Day. My negative thoughts get in the way of my progress on a very regular basis. And if it happens to me, I know it happens to you, too.
- Because I want to help. Ask anyone but my 5th grade teacher, I’m a helper by nature. If there’s anything I can do to help, I will do it.
- Because I could use an accountability buddy, or 30. By sharing the techniques with a massive group of women, I’m planting accountability seeds everywhere. So that means when I’m caught out in the streets being Petty Price, I’ll have a bunch of people in a bunch of places telling me to rein it in and get back on my merry Moredinary way.
- Because I need to feel it. Twitter chats are fun. They’re an awesome way to feel connected to a community over many-a-topic. But you can’t feel the electricity and good vibes in a room over Twitter or FaceTime of Google Hangout. Sometimes you (or I) just need that in-person, face-to-face experience.
- Because it’s easier than you think. You may look at the mission of Think This Way and think that tackling your thought life sounds like a little… much for two little women’s empowerment orgs. But trust me when I say, making the change is easier than you think. Sometimes all it takes is an unforgettable experience.
As for why I’m doing this with Yetti, well, Certified 10 is pretty amazing and, Yetti is too.
